It is not unusual to find a knowledgeable tour guide. it is extraordinary to find one who makes the traditions come alive. Jelena is one such guide. She took us to indeed the iconic places but when we advanced to Sinj, Jelena opened the door to the character of Croatia by teaching us the rich history and cultural traditions of the people of that historic town (…) And, if you are nice, you could get a locally sourced dark chocolate bar made with olive oil. If you are naughty it may be a locally sourced grappa for you. Some get both.

An Extraordinary Day in Split

I cannot praise Jelena enough; she absolutely warrants all the amazing reviews she has received on this site. I am a PhD candidate in Roman history at Yale and even I found her knowledge of ancient history to be extraordinary. She showed my sister and me a wonderful time in Split, taking us to beautiful places that were off the beaten path, like a gorgeous gallery on the Adriatic where we were the only visitors.
