HIGHLIGHTS

Join me on a private day trip from Split to the wonderful Krka National Park and soak up a relaxing day in this wonderful oasis. Natural beauties of the river with luxuriant and autochthonous vegetation plus extraordinary cultural features make it a truly perfect choice for a great day trip! Following Krka National Park it’s time to discover one of Croatia’s most beautiful coastal cities – Split.

ITINERARY

The driver and I will pick you up at your accommodation or at the port if you are coming on a cruise ship. It will take around 50 minutes from Split to Krka National Park. Stroll along the wooden bridges and petite pathways with the sounds of running rapids in the background. On a warm day, why not take a swim in the crystal-clear water near the Skradinski buk waterfall!

Enjoy the walk through The National Park and later visit the ethnology museum with the watermills. Lunch can be organised at an authentic tavern to try out some of the best Dalmatian delicacies such as peka. A peka is a domed iron lid or “bell”, used to cover a casserole pot, which is then buried under glowing embers to create a slow-cooking micro-oven. It’s mostly used for cooking either lamb or octopus, along with potatoes and other vegetables, with wine and olive oil.

Following Krka National Park, enjoy an overview tour of the eclectic city of Split. At the heart of the city lies the UNESCO listed Diocletian’s Palace, built as a ‘retirement home’ for the Roman Emperor Diocletian at the beginning of the 4th century AD. Explore the palace which still, today, lives and breathes as a fully-functioning place where people have their homes, shops, hotels and offices. Also, not to be missed are the sphinxes from Egyptian antiquity on the Peristyle Square and in front of Jupiter’s Temple.

As we continue our walk you get to know the newer parts of The Old Town that expanded outside the walls of the palace during the medieval times. Admire beautiful architecture and squares filled with numerous cafés and restaurants where you can join locals in their favourite past time activity of sipping coffee.

Krka & Split with Jelena - such a fantastic experience!

A wonderful easy going day with Jelena has to be the real highlight of our time in Split. We wanted to discover Krka National Park and the city of Split so we opted for Jelena as we already gained a good vibe from her previous reviews. We weren’t disappointed at all! Warm, friendly, informative, down to earth and full of delightful little stories! The perfect resource! Such a lovely person to have with us to shape our memorable day. As soon as we arrived off the ship everything worked like clockwork. Smooth pick-up in a lovely car, fabulous traditional lunch, all perfect timings and really finished off the day feeling our time in Krka and Split with Jelena was the best worthwhile decision…

The Best Private Guide in Split

After years of traveling, I have learned that a great guide will turn a good trip into a fantastic trip. If you are able to have a great private guide, your trip will be enhanced far more than if you attempted to see a city and the surroundings independently. This is what Jelena was able to accomplish for us. Jelena was a fantastic private guide. We, two persons, utilized Jelena as a private guide in Split and the surrounding area for two days. In addition, Jelena was able to assist us in arranging safe and reliable private transportation from Split to Dubrovnik. From the first time that I contacted Jelena until the end of our trip, Jelena was professional, friendly, and prompt…

Someone who really loves what she does, knows what people need to hear and makes them feel great. We will certainly tell our friends she’s the one they need – who are already planning their trip to Croatia!
