ITINERARY
Join me on Krka Tour from Split and escape to wonderful Krka National Park to soak up a relaxing day in this magical oasis.
Walk across the wooden bridges and delightful pathways hearing the sound of cascading water in the background.
Following Krka National Park it’s time to discover one of Croatia’s most beautiful coastal cities – Šibenik. Evidence proves there have been human settlements here from ancient times. Šibenik was first mentioned in 1066 in a document where it is stated that the Croatian king Petar Krešimir IV held court there for Christmas. Thus, Šibenik is the youngest of the Dalmatian cities and takes a great pride for being founded by the Croatian kings.

Not many cities can boast a UNESCO heritage site. Šibenik has two! Its cathedral of St. James has been on the list since 2000 and St Nicholas’ fort since 2017.
Stroll through this marvelous historic city and step into the spectacular Renaissance cathedral of St. James – the masterpiece of the famous architect Juraj Dalmatinac. The cathedral is completely made of stone with no biding material using unique construction techniques for the vaulting and the dome of the cathedral.
Besides the cathedral, the city prides itself with a great number of Renaissance palaces, delightful squares, beautiful churches and fortresses that have played an important role in defending its citizens through its turbulent history.
We finish the day in style with a scenic drive back to Split.

Wonderful tour for our family
Jelena has an appreciation of and affinity for the English language (she teaches English during the school year) and shows great interest in learning about the visitors who use her as a guide. She is a wonderful advocate for Croatia and all the beauty and history it has to offer visitors. The tourism industry is lucky to have her represent this part of Croatia, as she paints a positive but realistic view of the area. Because Jelena is a teacher, she had a wonderful demeanor with my two daughters (9 and 11 years at the time of our visit). She treated them with respect and seemed to enjoy having children with her for the day. My girls had a terrific time with her and said after our tour with Jelena that she was one of their favorite private guides we had ever had! She was professional, warm, attentive to our needs, and taught us a lot about Croatia of which she was very proud…

The Best Private Guide in Split
After years of traveling, I have learned that a great guide will turn a good trip into a fantastic trip. If you are able to have a great private guide, your trip will be enhanced far more than if you attempted to see a city and the surroundings independently. This is what Jelena was able to accomplish for us. Jelena was a fantastic private guide. We, two persons, utilized Jelena as a private guide in Split and the surrounding area for two days. In addition, Jelena was able to assist us in arranging safe and reliable private transportation from Split to Dubrovnik. From the first time that I contacted Jelena until the end of our trip, Jelena was professional, friendly, and prompt. Jelena was able to provide interesting and insightful information related to Croatian history and Croatian culture. I can say without hesitation that we enjoyed Split much more with the help of Jelena than if we had toured the area independently…

Having Jelena as our guide was a delight
She is a professional, loves guiding and most importantly she LOVES her topic – history! She is engaging, attentive, followed the interests of our group and wanted to share with us the things she knows. The amount of information given was just right, allowing us to ask more questions according to our level of interest. As the tour progressed and she discerned our interests she directed us to places and stories she knew we would enjoy. And we had several readers/history buffs in our group of six. Her knowledge is deep and she will give you as much information as you desire – could be a college professor easily. The mark of someone who loves their work is that they will pursue more knowledge and she told of several instances when she went to see a few new discoveries on her own… she just loves it.
We have been many places and on many private tours around the world and she is in the top 3 guides we have had… wish we could tour with her everywhere.
